Smokehead is a heavily peated Islay single malt Scotch whisky created by Ian Macleod Distillers, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is pale gold in colour.
The peat smoke of Islay is set against sweetness and a coastal, salty edge.
The nose brings peat smoke, sea spray, citrus peel and a hint of vanilla. On the palate it is smoky and warming, with black pepper, brine, dark chocolate and sweet malt. The finish is long and smoky, with salt, spice and a lingering ember note.
