Smokehead Rock Edition II is a special edition Islay single malt Scotch whisky, bottled by Ian Macleod Distillers at 46% in a 1 litre bottle.
The nose begins with dense peat smoke, bonfire and medicinal notes, then opens to sea breeze and salt, lemon peel, spicy ginger, and a rich sweetness of toffee, caramel and sherry.
The palate is dense and oily, led by earthy peat and barbecue smoke. Black pepper and ginger warmth balance notes of honey, cacao, raisins and a touch of orange. The finish is long, warm and intense, as charcoal smoke and peat fade slowly to a slightly salty, bitter aftertaste with a toasted sweetness.
