Smokehead The Rock Edition is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky bottled by Ian Macleod Distillers at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is heavy with thick wood smoke, earthy peat, iodine, seaweed and brine, opening up to rich plum jam, fresh lemon, spicy ginger and a touch of caramel. On the palate, peaty heat and black pepper give way to honeyed sweetness, toffee, creamy cocoa, a little mango and a hint of sherry before the smoke returns.
The finish is long, intense and very dry, with exotic spice and a note of mandarin peel.
