This is a 28-year-old whisky from the Strathclyde distillery in Scotland, distilled in 1988 and sold under the Speakeasy name in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is rich with ripe fruit, vanilla and oak, with caramel, sweet spice and a light touch of smoke. On the palate it is full and structured, with malt sweetness set against spice, then dried fruit, milk chocolate, leather and tobacco. The finish is long and lingering.
