Spey Fumare is a peated single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside Distillery, bottled at 46% ABV in a 20cl bottle. Fumare comes from the Latin for smoky, and this was the distillery's first peated release. It is made from peated malted barley and matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks, without chill filtration or added colouring.
SPEY's lighter, fruit-driven character meets smoke and maritime notes, with vanilla and green fruit set against medicinal peat, coastal salinity and herbs.
The nose has medicinal peat, smoke, salt air, iodine and seaweed. The palate is light and gently sweet before herbs and smoky peat appear. The finish is medium to long, with bonfire smoke and soft oak spice.
