Spey Fumare Single Malt Limited Release (46%)

Spey Fumare is the first single malt bottling of a smoky whisky from Speyside Distillery. The distillery makes only a small share of smoky whisky each year, and this release was matured in American bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 46% without chill-filtering or added caramel colouring, in an outturn of 18,000 bottles. The nose is marked by a medicinal note, peat and tar, with fresh maritime notes of salt, sea air, iodine and seaweed. The palate brings sweetness and a light saltiness. The finish carries concentrated smoke and sweet basil, with the medicinal notes returning at the end.
