This is a 14 year old Speyside single malt from the Soho Selection range, distilled in 2010 and bottled at 51.5% in a 70cl bottle.
It was drawn from a single sherry puncheon, and the time in oak has given it notes of salted caramel, cinnamon, liquorice and stewed fruits, held in a waxy texture.
The nose opens with fresh pear and green apple, then toffee, salted caramel, croissants, summer berries and icing sugar, with warm earth, baking spices and black pepper behind. On the palate come stewed orchard fruits, pineapple, fresh orange and marzipan, with savoury spices towards the back. The finish is long, with cinnamon, nutmeg and toasted oak.
