A 10 year old Springbank bottled at 100 proof, or 57% ABV, from the 2000s. It is a single malt matured in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks.
The nose is layered: caramel popcorn with rock salt, lemon, black pepper, raisins, honey fudge and yellow apricot, with a shadow of peat, fennel and roasted tobacco. On the palate come salty cheese, fruit and cream cake in a full-bodied, rich style. The finish is long, with nuts, dark chocolate and peat.
