SRV5 Blended Malt Scotch Whisky 8 Year Old - Thompson Bros. (70cl, 48.5%)

SRV5 is an 8 year old blended malt Scotch whisky from Thompson Bros., bottled at 48.5% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. Each batch is linked to the one before it by a solera-like process: part of the previous vatting stays behind and is topped up with further single malts. The name stands for Station Road Vat 5, the European oak vessel used for the marrying. The blend brings together malts from the northern Highlands, Speyside and Islay, and the label carries an illustration by KK Hiroshima. The nose offers galia melon, apricot, green apple, cucumber and lemongrass, with coastal peat and beach-fire smoke. The palate is fruity and herbal with a waxy texture, and the finish is long and waxy.
