Stork Club Cherry Rye (70cl, 30%)

Stork Club Cherry Rye is a 30% cherry liqueur made on a base of the distillery's own straight rye whiskey, in a 70cl bottle. The rye comes from regional grain and is blended with sour cherry nectar and a small share of cherry eau-de-vie, then rounded off with vanilla and sugar. Spreewood Distillers makes it at Schlepzig in the Spreewald. Three partners took over a small distillery there in 2016 and turned it towards rye whiskey. Sour cherry leads the nose, with vanilla and a spicy rye note. The palate is full, fruity and soft, with rye spice and a little vanilla sweetness. In the long finish, cherry and mild spice fade together with a sweet vanilla note.
