Stork Club Peanutz Rye Whiskey with Peanut Butter (70cl, 45%)

Stork Club Peanutz is a flavoured rye whiskey made with peanut butter, bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle. It was developed with Corby Lovell, founder of Twisted Nut, who created a dark-roast peanut butter for the project. This was combined with Stork Club Straight Rye Whiskey by fat washing: after 24 hours the mixture was chilled so the peanut butter set and could be separated from the whiskey. Repeated filtering left a nearly clear spirit. It was made by Spreewood Distillers in Brandenburg and has no added colouring. On the nose, roasted peanuts lead, with a touch of caramel and a light saltiness. The palate is creamy and full, with nutty and sweet notes recalling crème brûlée. The finish is silky and long, the nutty notes fading gently.
