Stork Club Smoky Rye Whiskey (70cl, 50%)

Stork Club Smoky Rye is a German rye whiskey made from 100% German rye and bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. It is made by Spreewood Distillers in Schlepzig. A large share of the spirit spends years in casks that previously held peated Islay whisky, which gives it its smoke. Individually toasted casks of new American and German oak add honey sweetness. It is non-chill-filtered and uncoloured. The nose shows burnt charcoal, light fruit, caramel, spice and floral touches. Honey and buttered rye toast lead the full, spicy palate, with fruity barbecue sauce and ashy smoke. The finish is spicy and long.
