Stork House Full Proof is a German rye whisky from Spreewood Distillers in Schlepzig, Brandenburg. It is made from 100% German rye and bottled at 55% ABV in a 750ml bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour.
The rye is matured in individually toasted American oak and German Napoleon oak, alongside sherry and wine casks. It was named World's Best Rye Whisky at the 2019 World Whiskies Awards.
The nose is butterscotch and black pepper with mature oak, juicy grain and light vanilla. The palate is rich and intense, with caramel and peppery rye spice wrapped in dried fruits and toasted oak, plus a hint of clove. The finish is long and warm, with clove and vanilla fading slowly.
