This is Strathconon Pure Malt 12 Year Old, a blended malt bottled at 40% ABV by James Buchanan & Co. It dates from the 1980s and was part of the Ascot Cellar series.
The nose pairs bright tropical fruit, peach, mango and pineapple, with paraffin, beeswax and linseed oil, and a little nutmeg. On the palate there is bitter yellow plum, peach and underripe apricot, then sweet spice with grapefruit and orange zest.
The finish is medium in length, waxy and herbal, with citrus, old wood and faint smoke.
