A 13 year old single malt from Strathmill in Speyside, distilled in 2004 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice range. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured in refill bourbon barrels, and this batch yielded 990 bottles. Strathmill is known for a light, elegant, fruity style, helped by purifiers fitted to its spirit stills.
The nose brings banana, pineapple, coconut, pear and green apple, with delicate floral notes and creamy butterscotch. On the palate a gentle pepper warmth gives way to juicy tropical fruit and orange zest. The finish is drying, with cocoa powder and toasted oak.
