Suntory Hakushu Distiller's Reserve (70cl, 43%)

This is a Japanese single malt from the Hakushu distillery, which Suntory built in 1973 on Mount Kaikomagatake. It is one of the highest-sited distilleries in the world. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The water used there is filtered through the granite layers of the Japanese Alps. A lightly peated malt is part of the make. The whisky is typically described as showing fresh herbal notes, a little smoke and fresh fruit.
