Yamazaki 12 Year Old is a Japanese single malt from Suntory, in a 70cl bottle. It comes from what the Japanese whisky world regards as its first malt distillery, and it was introduced in 1984.
The nose is full-bodied, with nut oils, lively zest, floral notes, tropical fruit and a faint rooty undertone. The palate is silky and gentle, with sweetness balanced by wintry spices, then citrus, more tropical fruit and a hint of rum. The finish is of moderate length, with lingering fruit and zest.
