Yamazaki Distillers Reserve is a Japanese single malt from Suntory, in a 70cl bottle. It comes from Yamazaki, described as Japan's first and oldest malt distillery, and is Suntory's flagship single malt.
The whisky is a blend of components aged in American oak, Spanish oak and Japanese Mizunara oak. It is gold in colour.
The nose is full of red fruit with a touch of sherry cask, with strawberry and cherry notes. The Mizunara adds a complex, spicy and almost incense-like character.
