A red wine from Salento made from the native Susumaniello grape. It shows a deep, vivid ruby colour. On the nose there are ripe red fruits such as plum and cherry, with sweet spices and a light touch of vanilla from ageing in wood. On the palate it is full-bodied and well structured, with balanced acidity and soft tannins leading to a long, seductive finish with returning fruit and spice. It suits robust dishes such as red meat roasts, game and aged cheeses.
