Talisker 10 Year Old is a single malt from the Isle of Skye. It is always bottled at 45.8%, a tradition of the distillery, and is lightly peated, salty and maritime in character. It is matured in bourbon and sherry casks.
The nose has smoke, malty sweetness and a lightly perfumed note, with bitter leather and smoke remaining as it stands in the glass. The palate shows ham, salt and smoky bacon, with an oily texture and a late sweetness, and turns peppery with water. The finish is full and spicy, medium to long, ending in smoke like cold ash.
