Talisker 1991 Distillers Edition is a single malt from the Isle of Skye, distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2004 at 45.8%. It was double matured, finished in Amoroso sherry casks after a minimum of ten years in American oak.
The Amoroso casks add sweetness, and this edition was released in limited numbers.
Tasting notes describe deep sherry, raisins, prunes and dark chocolate on the nose, with maritime hints, smoke and leather. The palate is full-bodied, with pepper, peat smoke, figs and toffee. The finish is long and warming, salty and smoky, with a spicy sherry sweetness.
