Talisker 25 Year Old is a single malt from the Talisker distillery on the Isle of Skye, bottled at 45.8% in a 70cl bottle.
It spent 25 years maturing in American oak casks, and keeps the pepper, sea salt and gentle peat smoke associated with the distillery.
The nose offers ripe pear, baked apple, citrus peel and honey, with sea spray, vanilla and soft bonfire smoke. The palate opens with orchard fruit, malt and vanilla before moving to salted caramel, toasted almonds and cracked black pepper, with peat smoke and oak spice building. The finish is long, with coastal salinity, pepper, soft smoke and mature oak.
