Talisker 25 Year Old is a single malt from the Isle of Skye, aged for 25 years and bottled at 45.8% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured mostly in bourbon hogsheads, with some European refill casks, and has a warm gold colour.
The nose brings seaweed, old oranges, distant smoke and chalk, with a juicy fruitiness. The palate starts gently, then builds through acidity, salt, sweetness, peppery heat, bitterness and smoke. The finish is long, slightly bitter, very drying and lightly smoky.
