This is an eight-year-old single malt from Talisker on the Isle of Skye, issued as the 2020 Special Release in a 70cl bottle.
After maturation it was finished in pot-still Caribbean rum casks, which add a rum sweetness to the distillery's smoky, maritime character.
The nose is fresh and marine with a peppery punch. On the palate, dark rum sweetness meets smoky peat and warming spice. The finish is long and smooth, with smoke softened by a hint of rum cask.
