Talisker – 8 Year Old Legends Untold Special Release 2021 (70cl, 59.7%)

This is an 8 year old Talisker single malt from the 2021 Special Release series, called Legends Untold. It is bottled at 59.7% in a 70cl bottle. Eight years is the age at which Talisker was traditionally bottled, in the days when Highland and Island malts were more elemental in character. The result is a direct, bold whisky. The nose opens sweet and maritime, with an early hint of porridge oats before briny seaweed, crystal salt and iodine come through over a base of mountain smoke. A drop of water softens the nose and brings out more of the maritime character.
