Talisker – 8 Year Old Special Release 2021 The Rogue Seafury (70cl, 59.7%)

This is Talisker 8 Year Old, the 2021 Special Release named The Rogue Seafury, in a 70cl bottle at 59.7% vol. The Special Releases are an annual collection that has appeared since 2001, and the 2021 edition took its inspiration from Scottish myths and legends. The whisky is described as a direct, bold Talisker with a salty, maritime character and a clear peat presence. The nose is sweet and maritime, giving way to caramel and light fruit. The palate is soft and oily, salty with a touch of sweetness and peaty throughout. The finish opens with Talisker's chilli kick, then moves to malty sweetness and freshly grated lemon zest.
