A Talisker aged for eight years and bottled at cask strength, 58.7% ABV, by Diageo for its 2024 Special Releases. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The finish casks were treated unusually: the original layers of char were polished away by rocks and water, then lightly re-toasted.
The notes describe maritime peat, poached pears and crunchy green apples, giving way to seaweed and cracked black pepper.
