Talisker Skye is a single malt from the Talisker distillery, which was founded in 1831. It was matured in carefully chosen American oak casks, some of them freshly re-charred, and is bottled at 45.8% in a 70cl bottle. The character is smoky and sweet with a spicy note, in an approachable style.
The colour is bright gold with copper tones. Fresh orange and mango on the nose come with pepper, earth, sea salt and smoke. The palate starts soft and sweet with very light smoke, then salted caramel and honey-glazed barbecue ribs bring sharp spice. The finish is long and warming yet fresh, with pepper and a trace of sweet smoke.
