Tamdhu 18 Year Old is a limited edition Speyside single malt matured in Oloroso sherry casks, a mix of European and American oak sourced from Jerez. It is bottled at 46.8%, without chill-filtration and at natural colour.
Tamdhu was founded in 1897 and revived in 2012 by Ian Macleod Distillers, and sherry cask maturation runs through its whole range.
The nose is dry and nutty, with cherry, milk chocolate, rum raisin, citrus, baked oats and plum. The palate is rich and mouthcoating, with vanilla, brown sugar, red apple and dried fruits. The finish is long and warming, with dried apricot, dates, soft spice and stewed apple.
