Tamdhu Batch Strength 008 is the eighth release in the cask-strength series from this Speyside distillery, launched in late 2023. It is bottled at 55.8% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill filtered and with no added colour.
The whisky is matured entirely in Oloroso sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez, with a high proportion of first-fill casks.
The nose combines Spanish oak, vanilla and honeycomb with toasted nuts and red berries. The palate opens with summer berries and pomegranate before turning velvety, with candied lemon peel, milk chocolate and gingerbread. The finish is long, moving from orange tea and baked figs to toffee.
