Tamdhu – Quercus Alba Distinction (70cl, 48%)

Tamdhu Quercus Alba Distinction is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle at 48% ABV. Tamdhu has distilled in Speyside since 1897 and matures its whisky exclusively in oloroso sherry casks. The name comes from the oak species Quercus Alba, native to the forests of North America. The wood is harvested, prepared and shipped to Spain, where the casks are made over six years in the sherry triangle. Staves dry in the Mediterranean sun before assembly and toasting, and the casks are then seasoned with oloroso sherry. The new-make spirit in these casks gives rich, fruity flavours.
