A 16 year old Speyside single malt from Tamnavulin, selected by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice series, which bottles individual casks. It comes from a single bourbon barrel from 2007 and is bottled at a cask strength 56.8% in a 70cl bottle, one of 178.
The nose is described as syrupy pears with passion fruit and vanilla pod, then lime zest, pecans and charred oak. The palate has sweet tangerine and banana, soft butterscotch, desiccated coconut and cracked black pepper. The finish is medium-bodied and spicy, with liquorice.
