This is a Teaninich single malt from the Equinox & Solstice series, drawn from a single refill hogshead of 2011 and bottled at 48.5%, the easy drinking strength the series is known for.
The nose combines sweet cereals, wax and mineral oil with a hint of shoe leather and creamy smokiness, while mint and eucalyptus add freshness. On the palate it is rich, sweet and rounded, with beery, spicy flavours, mint and smoked olive oil, alongside peat smoke and sweet malt extract. The finish is long and peppery, slightly peaty, with candied fruits and tea tree oil.
