Refill bourbon barrel
This is a Highland single malt from Teaninich, distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2010 at 16 years old by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 59.39, named Gateway To Narnia. It comes from a single refill bourbon barrel, which gave 255 bottles at 59.7% ABV. The label is in the Society's oldest format, used from 1983 until 2006. This bottling was released only in the USA, in a 75cl bottle rather than the usual 70cl. The nose starts with alcohol over dried biscuit dough, then fruit, green nuts and a fruit salad. On the palate come old Riesling, lemon and a touch of oak in a light body. The finish is rather short, with Riesling, a sweet mineral note and a hint of retsina.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
