A 17-year-old Highland single malt from Teaninich, distilled in 2007 and bottled at 56.4% by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 59.89. It is a single-cask release of 498 bottles, each of 70cl, drawn from one ex-Oloroso butt. The whisky spent 13 years in an American oak Oloroso butt before moving to a first-fill Spanish oak Oloroso butt for the rest of its maturation. The nose brings toast, seaweed, rapeseed oil and toffee. The palate follows the nose, adding tempura mushrooms and wasabi peas tossed in coal soot and basil. With water, orange oil, coffee grounds, salted crème caramel and a pinch of peppermint appear.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
