This is a 15 year old single malt from Teaninich, a Highland distillery, distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2024 by James Eadie at 55.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It was finished in first-fill European oak that previously held Oloroso sherry, which adds dark fruit, walnut, milk chocolate and caramel to the grassy, orchard-fruit character of the distillery.
The nose is juicy and floral, with tangerine, honeysuckle, crème brûlée, orange blossom and a hint of green chilli. The palate is waxy and zesty, with cape gooseberries, plums and maple syrup. The finish brings freshly baked brioche and thick Seville orange marmalade.
