Teaninich – 2010 14 Year Old Margaux Cask Finish (70cl, 59.2%)

This is a 14-year-old Highland single malt from Teaninich, distilled in 2010 and finished in a Margaux wine cask. Berry Bros. & Rudd bottled it in 2025 from hogshead #721397 for its Crafted in Cask edition, at a cask strength of 59.2%. The single cask yielded 264 bottles, without colouring or chill-filtration. The nose opens with milk chocolate and almond beside restrained red fruit, with violet, blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar and soft leather. On the palate blackcurrant, plum and damson are joined by blueberry, light tobacco, a graphite-like mineral note and some tannin. A little water brings out green apple and citrus. The finish is long and silky, with tart red fruit, black pepper and fine spice.
