Aka-Head is a four-year-old Akashi whisky finished in red wine casks, released by the Eigashima distillery. Eigashima was founded in 1888 by Eigashima Shuzo to make sake. It obtained a licence to produce whisky in 1919 and began whisky production soon afterwards, and it came through the whisky boom of the 1970s and 1980s intact.
