The Chess Malt Mortlach 16 Years Old 'Pawn F7' is a single malt distilled in 2007 and matured for 16 years in oak casks. It is bottled at a cask strength of 52.1%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The Chess Malt series takes its inspiration from the strategy of chess, and Pawn F7 is named after a move in the game. Mortlach is known as the Beast of Dufftown. Here the nose brings dark caramel, dried fruit and vanilla with spiced oak, mocha and a discreet smoky depth. The palate opens with toffee and ripe prunes, then dark chocolate, nuts, pepper and clove. The finish is long, with dried fruit, dark syrup and spiced wood.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
