The Dalmore 18 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky matured in two stages. It spent 14 years in American oak casks that previously held bourbon, then a further four years in 30-year-old Matusalem Oloroso sherry casks.
The Dalmore's house style comes from a long relationship with the sherry house González Byass, and the distillery's casks add rich, nutty flavours to its chocolate and orange character. The nose shows red fruits, particularly raspberries, plums and cherries. Milk chocolate, coffee and citrus lead the palate, and the spicy finish carries caramel, pear and nutmeg.
