The Dalmore – King Alexander III

The Dalmore King Alexander III is a single malt from the Dalmore distillery, built in 1839 by Alexander Matheson. It is made by combining six different cask finishes into one whisky. The Dalmore is known for multi cask maturation, and its house style draws on a relationship with sherry house González Byass that goes back more than a century. Those casks are said to add rich, nutty notes to the distillery's signature chocolate and orange character. The nose offers Seville orange zest, malted cereal, barley and chocolate. The palate brings creamy vanilla fudge and tropical fruit with a slightly vinous edge, and the finish is peppery, with well-integrated oak and a late hint of claret.
