The Dalmore Port Wood Reserve

The Dalmore Port Wood Reserve is a Highland single malt created by Master Distiller Richard Paterson. It begins its maturation in ex-bourbon casks of American white oak, then part of the spirit moves to Tawny Port pipes from Portugal's Douro Valley before the parts are blended together. The bourbon casks give vanilla, honey and soft oak, while the port pipes add ripe red fruit, raisins, cinnamon and a little chocolate. The nose offers ripe red fruit, orange and almonds with light spice. The palate brings raspberries, chocolate, toffee, raisins and roasted nuts, and the finish is long, soft and fruity with spicy accents.
