The English Distillery – Founders' Private Cellar 17 Year Old Portuguese Cabernet Sauvignon Cask (70cl)

A 17 year old single malt from The English Distillery in Norfolk, part of its Founders' Private Cellar series. These bottlings are released when a cask has exceeded the distillery's expectations, a tradition begun by its founder, James Nelstrop. This one was distilled in 2007 and matured for 17 years in a Portuguese Cabernet Sauvignon cask. It is bottled at cask strength, non-chill filtered and with natural colour, in a 70cl bottle. The nose shows dates, toffee and dark chocolate. On the palate come red fruits, apples and brown sugar, and the finish is full bodied, dry and medium to long.
