The English Distillery Original is a single malt from the distillery's core range, which has three English single malts. It has been made since 2016 at what is described as the UK's oldest registered whisky distillery.
It matured fully in a mix of first-fill and refill bourbon casks, and it is non-chill filtered and hand bottled.
The nose is light and fragrant, with vanilla, lime zest, mango, dried apricot, fresh-cut grass and a touch of marzipan. On the palate it is smooth, with a peppery tingle, vanilla, fresh wood and tropical fruit. The finish is clean, dry and slightly salty.
