The English Distillery – Smokey Single Malt Whisky (70cl)

Smokey is a peated single malt from The English Distillery, one of three single malts in its core range, in a 70cl bottle. The barley is peated to around 50ppm, and the whisky was fully matured in first-fill and refill bourbon casks. It is non-chill filtered, of natural colour and hand bottled. The smoke sits alongside the vanilla-rich character found across the distillery's whiskies. The nose is sweet and savoury, with white pepper, smoked ham, peat, vanilla, aniseed, ginger cake and lemon and lime zest. The palate is creamy and clean, with dry oak, pepper and peat, then smoke, lemon rind and tropical fruit. The finish is long, spicy and smoky.
