This is a 15-year-old single cask single malt from The English Whisky Co., bottled at 57.6% in a 70cl bottle from cask number DM003. It was matured in a bespoke sherry cask. The distillery was built by founder James Nelstrop, who set out to make whisky in England, and this bottling celebrates that ambition. The whisky is dark and oily, with dates, raisins and sultanas on the nose. Cherries, chocolate and figs come through on the palate with a hint of ginger, and a splash of water brings out additional fruit.
