The English Whisky Smokey Virgin 2012 is a small batch English single malt from The English Distillery, formerly known as St. George's Distillery. It was released in 2022 in a 70cl bottle at 46%.
The barley was malted to 55ppm phenols and the whisky matured in virgin oak casks, which makes it a heavily peated malt. Just 2100 bottles were filled, without colouring or chill filtration.
It is usually described as brash and characterful, with powerful vanilla and woodsmoke notes.
