This is a single-cask Highland single malt from Blair Athol, bottled by Hunter Laing in its The First Editions range. It was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2024 at a cask strength of 59.6% ABV.
The whisky spent 13 years maturing in a single sherry butt, cask HL21212, which adds dried fruit, caramel, dark chocolate and warming spice to the malt.
The nose offers dried fruit and dark berries with caramel, malt and chocolate. On the palate come raisins, toffee and dark chocolate with oak and baking spices, and the finish is long, with dried fruit, cocoa and spicy oak.
