The GlenAllachie 12 Year Old is an unpeated Speyside single malt, made from 100% Scottish barley and fermented for 160 hours. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour.
Maturation is in a mix of Pedro Ximénez sherry, Oloroso sherry and virgin American oak casks. The Oloroso gives a dry, nutty backbone, the Pedro Ximénez dark fruit, and the virgin oak spice and structure. It launched in 2018 as the flagship of the range, after Billy Walker, Graham Stevenson and Trisha Savage bought the distillery in 2017.
The flavour is described as dried apple, chutney, orange zest, nutmeg and cinnamon.
