The GlenDronach – 14 Year Old Boynsmill House Edition (46.8%)

This is a 14-year-old single malt from The GlenDronach, released to mark the distillery's 200th anniversary. It is named after Boynsmill Estate, where founder James Allardice secured one of Scotland's earliest whisky licences in 1826. The whisky is matured in oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, then finished in claret casks, which adds red berry fruit to the distillery's sherried character. It is bottled at 46.8% ABV. On the nose there are Highland toffee, bramble and stone fruit, with hazelnut and raisin. The palate moves to ripe malt and velvety chocolate caramel.
